The Goodtimers have built a reputation over several years (since 1997) of promoting the most professional and upscale events catered to the urban audience in Kentuckiana. Our target market primarily consists of professionals between the ages of 21 – 35 that have recently graduated from college or relocated to Louisville for business purposes. Our advertising campaign for each event is composed of e-mail distribution to over 10,000 e-mails, radio ads on B-96FM, and distribution of posters and flyers in various establishments that our target market populates (malls, barbershops, salons, etc.). Some of the venues where we have hosted our events include Kyes, Oscar Browns, Actors Theater, and the Riverbend Winery. (Contacts for these locations are available upon request). The most lucrative event that we have is during Derby weekend. Within six years we have more than tripled the number of guests from just 700 in 2002 to over 3,500 in 2009 for the Derby event.
The overall look of the people that attend the Goodtimer events is sexy and chic. We require a strict dress code for entry into our events (No caps, athletic apparel, sneakers, etc.) We strive to provide our guests with a sophisticated venue and ambience where they can relax and have a good time.
VIP & Live Entertainment
In attempt to add extra flavor to our events and take them to the next level, for select parties we add a VIP area and other amenities. The VIP area usually consists of a free food buffet and complimentary drink specials. Past celebrities that have taken part in the Goodtimers VIP include: Michael Jordan, Terrell Owens, Boris Kodjo, Bill Bellamy, Ray Buchanan, Darryl Griffith, Eddie George, Monique, Cedric the Entertainer, Rajon Rondo, Kerry Rhodes, Justin Miller, Gabrielle Union, Shawn Marion and Deion Branch. In order to give our guests a variety of entertainment during our events, we have provided live jazz, poetry, massages, and movies. Some of the local jazz artists that have performed at our events include Maestro J, The Hugh Peterson Band, and Herlan Robinson. These amenities contribute to the sophisticated ambience that we try to provide for our guests that attend the events.
Not only are we committed to serving the guests that attend our events, we are also mindful of serving our community. Partial proceeds of past events have been used to raise funds for the Central High Basketball Team in Louisville. We have also contributed to the Big Brothers & Sisters Foundation through Allan Houston, donated funds to the Louisville Urban League, and held can food drives at some of our events.
We would love to have the opportunity to partner up with you in the near future. We are optimistic that a partnership with Goodtimers and your venue would be beneficial for all persons involved. If you have any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to call Doug Bibby at (502)599-9081.
